Abstract

321,522. Smith. P. A., Faber, O., and Drake & Gorham, Ltd. Oct. 5, 1928. Two-part couplings.-A btyonet-plug socket 9, a lamp holder, or other coupling is connected to a ceiling or wall box 5 by a tubular member 1 passing through the cover 4 of the box and secured thereto by locking nuts 7, the socket 9 being secured by a ring 12 to the member 1. The main leads pass from the conduit 14 to the terminals on the insulating block 10 that carries the usual plungers 11 of the bayonet, socket, the upper edge 15 of the member 1 being rounded to prevent damage of the leads. A shade ring 16 may secure an inverted shield surrounding the coupling and forming a support for a pendent bowl &c. The ring 12 may be elongated to enclose a, spring and support a tube or down-rod carrying lamps so as to allow limited universal motion of the tube.
