Abstract

320,291. Huhn, G. Dec. 31. 1928. Packing, metallic. - A compound packing ring consists of an outer ring 1 of cast-iron. non-rusting steel or other hard metal, and an inner ring 5 of bronze or the like, secured together by rivets 8, or otherwise. The rings may be segmental, as shown. The ring 1 may be of L or of U-section and its flange 4 may make contact with the rod, or be spaced from it. The thickness of the ring 5 is preferably greater than that of the flange 4.
