Abstract
319,515. Tuck-Tite Lock & Fastener Co., Ltd., and Widmer, H. A. Oct. 13, 1928. Catches, spring; stud and eye or socket fastenings.-In a spring fastening of the kind in which a flat tab member 2 is pushed under a bridgepiece 3 and is retained by a spring-actuated catch engaging behind the bridge-piece, as in Specification 234,004, the tab 2 has spring- actuated members 1 projecting laterally from the tab to engage behind the side members of the bridge 3. As shown, the members 1 are of curved form, pivoted within the tab near its free end which is preferably of pointed form to facilitate passage under the bridge-piece, and are urged outwards through the slots in the sides of the tab by a U-shaped spring 5 the ends of which engage slots 7 in members 1. Stops 9 co-operate with lugs 8 to limit movement of members 1, but an altenative form is described lock 10 having a bolt or bolts adapted, when shot, to prevent inward releasing movement of members 1, but an alternative form is described from which the lock is omitted. Fig 6 shows a form of bridge-piece in which the cross-bar of the bridge 3 is extended to form a cover-plate 12 for the tab.
