363,965. Fastenings for strap ends, LUNDHOLM AKTIEBOLAG, C. H., 4, Võstra Tradgardsgatan, Stockholm.-(Assignees of Kuhlemann, S. O. C. ; 49, Hornsgatan, Stockholm.) June 16, 1931, No. 17520. Convention date, June 16, 1930. [Class 44.] Locking devices for securing together the ends of straps, and particularly adapted for locking parachute harnesses, comprises means for releasing the strap ends by the rotation of a screw-threaded member. The strap ends, which are provided with metal covered eyes or the like, may be held by means of bolts 23 pressed by springs 25 against a baseplate 32 of a casing 10, which is provided with a flange 11 for attachment to the waist belt or the like of the harness. Rotation of a screw 13 operated by a handle 17 pivotally connected thereto raises a nut-like member 20 engaging a projection 24 of the bolt 23, and thus lifts the bolt against -the action of the spring 25 until the strap end is released. The bolts 23 are guided through openings in two parallel guide plates 28, 29 which are spaced apart by means of washers 30 through which screws 31 are passed securing the plates to the casing 10. The handle 17 is normally held out of operation by means of a spring catch 18 engaging an inwardly curved portion thereof. The invention may also be employed for locking together the ends of other kinds of straps, for example, trouser belts or harness for horses.
