Abstract

316,732. Dobie, J. June 6, 1928. Adapting for miniature ammunition. - Relates to revolvers provided with adapters capable of being fitted into the chambers to take smaller calibre carttridges in a slightly inclined direction. According to the invention, the bore 9<b> of the adapter 9 is eccentric along its whole length relatively to the axis of the chamber, and the forward portion of the bore is rifled. When in the firing position, the bore is slightly below the axis of the large calibre chamber and slightly inclined upwards. The front end of the adapter is at right-angles to its bore. In a modification, the whole cylinder 8<a> of the revolver is replaced by another having smaller bores corresponding to the adapters fitted into the original cylinder.
