Abstract
314,691. Birkbeck, H., (Vollmann, W.). July 19, 1928. Loud - speakers; d i a - phragms ; magnetic instruments. - A loud speaker diapbragm consists of three or more curved, sectorshaped parts 1, Figs. 1 and 2 associated together in pyramid fashion, the outer edges being clamped to a frame 5 while the inner ends are actuated by the reed 10, the juxtaposed edges 6 being free, or connected by flexible members permitting free relative movement. The parts may be of different materials and thicknesses, or of different areas the apex of the pyramid being, for example, eccentrically disposed in relation to a rectangular casing. The inner ends may be clamped between cones 15, 16, Fig. 7, or may be glued to a single conical member.
