Abstract

312,425. Jardine, J. March 15, 1928. Addition to 267,825. Jib cranes. - The form of level-luffing crane according to the parent Specification in which the load block is suspended in a bight of the hoisting rope, is modified by leading one branch of the rope round sheaves at the jib head and on the frame, instead of sheaves at the jib head and on the compensating lever. The free end of the rope is anchored to the lever or passed around a sheave therein and anchored to a fixed point. As shown in Fig. 1, the hoisting rope F passes from the drum E over sheaves H on the frame A and K on the jib head, round the load block L and then as many times as required round sheaves I, M at the jib head and J on the frame and is finally anchored to the compensating lever C at c<2>. The lever is connected at c<1> by a rod, rope or chain D to the jib head. In a modification, Fig. 2. (not shown) the rope passes from the drum round sheaves such as J, M, then round the load block and finally to the compensating lever.
