Abstract
310,142. Hanson, C. J. W. March 2, 1928. Stropping - apparatus. -A device for honing and stropping razor blades consists of two members a, b hinged together by pin t and formed to carry a roller or rollers c on the pin t. The part b has formed therein bosses g, h to engage holes in a blade and the part a has therein holes i, j to receive the bosses, the parts a, b being held together by a hinged clip f, or by a bolt. The parts are extended to form a handle, a tongue k on the part b engaging an indentation in the part a; or one part may be extended more than the other, and inserted into, or fastened to a handle. In use the device is laid on a hone or strop the roller ensuring that the blade edge is given the correct angle; the edges of the parts a, b are bevelled, and if excessive pressure is applied, those edges contact with the hone &c. to prevent damage to the blade. The parts, when opened to receive a blade, lie in one plane.
