Abstract

309,293. Parkes, J. March 27, 1928. Stropping - apparatus.-A device for holding safety razor blades during stropping comprises two jaws a, a<1>, one of which has projections a<2> passing through holes in the blade b and in the other jaw. The jaws a, a' are clamped together by a loop or bow spring c and projecting finger pieces d, d<1> on the plates a, a' pass through slots in the spring c and enable the plates a, a<1> to be separated when desired. Additional clamping may be obtained' by a screw and nut e, e'. In a modification, to enable both edges of the blade to be stropped, the clamping plates are lengthened as at f, Fig 4, and are secured by a clip g. The spring c which may serve as a handle during stropping may be covered with rubber or other material to improve the grip or appearance.
