Abstract

307,614. Powell, J. Oct. 22, 1928. Lift valves; closure members, lift.-In screwdown taps or cocks, a thimble 4 in the form of a truncated cone mounted on the end of the screwspindle co-operates with a conical nipple 5 screwed into the tap body. The nipple may be screwed into the body from below, through an aperture adapted to be closed by a screw plug. The thimble may be rotatable on a. headed stud 6 screwed into the spindle or may be otherwise secured to the spindle.
