Disc apparatus; gauges.-Apparatus for grinding annular metal discs or washers to a predetermined thickness consists of peripherally opposed grinding and feed wheels d, e between the operative surfaces of which the washer c is located, the washer being rotatably mounted on grooved rollers b<6>, b<61>, b<62> carried by the flange b<1> of a slide b, which is moved, during grinding to move the washer across the surfaces of the wheels, by a handle b', a stop b<5> serving to limit the movement. The roller b<62> is carried by a member b<8> slidably adjustable in the flange b<1>. In operation, the feed-wheel is adjusted towards the grinding-wheel and one surface of the washer is ground ; the washer is then reversed and the other surface ground, the feed wheel being moved until arrested by a stop to give the required thickness to the washer.
