Abstract

Tension arrangements; thread guides. -A device for tensioning threads comprises a conical body a, Fig. 2, of porcelain, glass or metal supported centrally on a rod b and formed with porcelain guide-eyes g, Fig. 3, and an annular recess e to accommodate the tension discs h, k. The conical form of the body a facilitates the mounting of a number of such devices in a vertical or steeply inclined row, as shown in Fig. 4. The upper disc may be weighted as at k' while the lower disc may be formed with an upward extension s. Holes t are provided for the escape of fluff. In a modification, the discs h, k are supported on a central extension u of the 'body a, Fig. 5, and are incapable of eccentric movement about the rod b. If desired the lower disc h is omitted and the disc k bears on the part u. In further modifications the body a is formed with a conical part extending from a cylindrical part or comprises two cylindrical portions. The guideeyes g may take the form of overlapping hooks z, 1, Fig. 9.
