Abstract
642,113. Creels for crepe rayon. ALGEMEENE KUNSTZIJDE UNIE N.V. Feb. 17, 1947, Nos. 4557 and 4558. Convention dates, March 28, 1946, and Nov. 29, 1946. Drawings to Specification. [Classes 120(ii) and 142(iv)] In a creel for warping crepe rayon, the yarns are drawn overhead from bobbins in such a way that their existing twist is increased and are taken through thread guides situated at a distance from the ends of the bobbins which is smaller than the radius of a full bobbin. In the case of cylindrical bobbins, twist increase is obtained by unwinding off the appropriate end of the bobbin; conical bobbins must have been so wound that twist increase occurs when unwinding over the smaller end. Preferably, the bobbins are horizontal and the guides (which may be eyelets of steel, porcelain, or ruby) are provided in the vertical flange of an L-section plate, the horizontal flange extending completely under a row of bobbins to prevent any loose yarns from becoming entangled with the row beneath.
