Abstract

Detachable stoppers secured by clamping devices or clips; retaining devices in receptacle neck above closure.-Relates to closures for bottles, jars, tins, &c. having a wall or flange provided with ribs, bars, or studs capable of traversing corresponding entrance grooves in the rim of the container, the ribs &c. being pressed down the grooves until the cap bears on the top of the rim. According to the invention, the downwardly extending entrance grooves f are formed with an inclined bed adapted to force the ribs &c. e outwards and the ribs &c. then pass over the ends of the beds and spring into recesses f<1> below the ends to secure the cap a in place auto. matically. Oblique or helical releasing grooves k extend from the recesses f<1> towards, the top of the rim to guide the ribs &c. upwards when the cap is rotated, and their depth decreases towards the rim to spring the wall of the cap outwards.
