Abstract
281,219. Michelin et Cie. Nov. 27, 1926, [Convention date]. Addition to 222,768. Tyre attachments to rims.-The central well or recess of a rim of the kind referred to in the parent Specification is closed for a part of its circumference by a ring member which may be formed separately from, or integral with, the main rim part. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the ring 2 is formed with depressed portions 8 adapted to seat on the bottom of the well. The edges of the band may extend into the rim beads 3, and the band may be riveted or welded to the rim. The seatings 8 may be formed on the rim, or may be constituted by separate blocks fitted between the band and the rim. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which a rubber, or rubber-andfabric band 10 of graded thickness is used for partially blocking the well-base. Fig. 9 shows a further modification in which the band 2 is formed integrally with the hollow rim, the dotted lines indicating the position where the band conforms to the well-base.
