Abstract

222,768. Michelin et Cie. Jan. 14, 1924, [Convention date]. Tyre attachments to rims.-A wheel rim B having a central recess C is provided with means for closing the recess or a part of it to prevent entrance of the tyre edges. The major portion of the recess is permanently closed by a plate A, which may be integrally connected to the rim, a radially-adjustable plate D being fitted at the other portion of the recess. Fig. 4 shows the operative position of the plate D, and Fig. 3 the position in which the tyre edges are freed for assemblage &c. In modifications, the plate D is adapted to be drawn down so as to be flush with the edges of the recess or to be housed completely within the recess.
