Abstract
276,476. Barton, T. A. July 5, 1926. Springs, arrangement of; equalizing load on springs and wheels.-Relates to a spring expansion for two pairs of road wheels disposed on two axles at the rear of a motor omnibus or like vehicle, the axles being connected to the frame at each side by semi-elliptical springs interconnected by a balance lever as described in Specification 247,403. The balance levers have arms A', A<2> of inverted channel section in which the corresponding ends of the springs E, F slide without lateral play. When the. springs E, F overlap, as shown, the arms A', A<2> are offset. The levers are preferably stamped from a flat plate and a separate bearing A<3> mounted on the frame pivot C is bolted thereto. The outer ends of the springs may be pivoted directly to the frame and their inner ends mav be fitted with sliding blocks engaging the channelled leverarms.
