Powdered and granular resistances. - In an electric resistance of the type comprising a compressible container containing powdered or granular resistance material the chamber is moved by a. screw against a stationary pressure-member to regulate the resistance. The container 1 is made of felt with a metal end-disc 3 and an insulating enddisc 4 and is contained in a metal casing 7 with a screwed neck working on an externally. serewed sleeve 11 attached to a bar 12 carrying a terminal 20. The sleeve 11 contains an insulating sleeve 12 through which passes a pin 14 on which bears a contact stud 6 passing through the disc 4. To the pin 14 is attached a terminal 15 insulated from the bar 12 by fibre discs 17, 18. Specification 218,523 is referred to.
