Abstract
275,821. Susko, A. de. Oct. 18, 1926. Syringes and like appliances. -A nasal irrigator comprises a frame 7 having parallel conduits 7<1>, 8<1> provided with terminal nozzles 9, 11, 12, 13 the nozzles being connected to a liquid supply under pressure, members adapted to be inserted into the nostrils and a discharge pipe respectively. The conduits 71, 8<1> are controlled by a common tap 14 having diametrical passages 15, 15<1> permitting the flow of liquid to and from the nostrils. The tap 14 also has an axial passage 20 communicating with the lower portions of the conduits 7<1>, 8<1> by passages 21 and 15<1> respectively. The tap 14 is held in place by screw-caps 16, 19 engaging lugs 17 on the frame 7 and its movement is limited to rotation through a right-angle by a pin in the cap 16 engaging an arcuate slot in the tap. A cock 10 is provided on the nozzle 9. In use, the tap 14 is first set as shown, liquid being allowed to flow through the conduits 7<1>, 8<1> only. On turning the tap 14 to open communication with the nostrils the liquid already in the conduit 8<1> aspirates the injected liquid from the nostrils through the nozzle 12.
