Abstract

818,606. Anti-drip devices. GASKELL & CHAMBERS Ltd. March 11, 1958 [April 8, 1957], No. 11337/57. Class 102(1). A pump delivers liquid through a delivery pipe 3 provided with a nozzle 8 forming a venturi throat in the pipe at its junction with a branch pipe 7. The branch pipe 7 has an air vent cap 9 and valve member 10 which allows air to enter the pipe as liquid is delivered. When the delivery ceases the pipes 3 and 7 act as a U-tube and liquid flows into the pipe 7 from the delivery pipe 3 preventing dripping from the delivery outlet. The valve 10 prevents any flow of liquid out of the air vent.
