272,558. Lemasson, R. P. F. June 12, 1926, [Convention date]. Heating charge.-Air for combustion is circulated about the sparking plugs 9. Passages 3, 7 with deflectors 8 and a filtering device 4 lead to a compressor 5 which may be combined with the engine fly-wheel, thence the air passes into a container 11 and through passages 13 in the oil sump to another container 14 and the cylinder intake pipe 18. The carburettor 15 may be placed in the pipe 18, or in advance of the compressor. Thermostatic means may be inserted to byepass the tubes 13 if the air is sufficiently heated, and the carburettor may be fitted with a regulating valve 19 opening automatically, and with or without thermostatic control.
