Abstract

270,373. Groves, W. W., (International Motor Co.). Feb. 16, 1926. Frames.-A unit comprising an engine, a rotating shaft or other mechanical device wherein dynamic forces are actively at work, is supported on a frame such as the frame b, Figs. 1 and 2, of a motor vehicle by means of rigid projecting arms a', a<2>, a<3>, the ends of which enter housings d connected to or forming part of the frame b, non- metallic material c being interposed between the ends of the arms and the housings. Enlargements a' may be formed at the ends of the arms to prevent displacement. Several methods of mounting motors on side and cross frames of motor vehicles are shown. A dual non-metallic supporting block g, Fig. 6, may be interposed between the ends r<1>, r<2> of an arm and a housing formed by the channel frame B. The invention may be applied to aircraft and seacraft.
