Abstract
255,041. Kovacs, T. July 11, 1925, [Convention date]. Feed-bars for reservoir pens ; overflow arrangements.-In a reservoir pen, the feed-bar B is formed with ink-channels D at the bottom of a longitudinal air-channel, side overflow chambers E communicating with the ink-channels D, and another overflow chamber L at the front end of the feed-bar B, the chamber L extending almost or quite up to the nib. In addition, other chambers S. Fig. 2, separated by a longitudinal web R may be formed at the back of the feed-bar in communication with the chamber L. The chambers S are covered by a plate T which is extended and bent up to touch the nut so as to form a cover for the channel L. An aperture J is formed in the plate T at a spot remote from the nib to admit air to the chambers S, L and to permit ink to rise in the chambers S. The chambers E communicate with the chamber L by passages M. with the chambers S by passages N, and with the ink-channels D by small apertures 0 which permit the passage of ink but prevent the passage of air, thus facilitating the return of ink to the reservoir when the pen is upturned. Nib-retracting reservoir pens.-The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes the provision of the overflow chambers in nib-retracting pens. An axial passage G. Fig. 3, (Cancelled), divided into two parts by a partition H, is formed in the feed-bar B, the cuter end of the partition being secured to the cover-plate of th chamber L which communicates by way of passages M with the chambers E as in the case of the fixed-nib pens. An air-aperture J is formed at the inner end of the chamber G, and the partition H is also apertured. The chambers E, G communicate with the ink-channels D through apertures 0, P respectively This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
