Abstract

412,610. Fountain pens. WOOD, E. S., Cinnaminson Township, and ASHMORE, L. H., 139, Woodlawn Terrace, Collingswood, both in New Jersey, U.S.A. Dec. 30, 1932, No. 36949. [Class 146 (iii).] A fountain pen is provided with an element 1 detachably mounted in the end of the barrel A or nib-section B and formed at its rear end with a seat adapted to co-operate with a corresponding seat in the barrel or nib-section, to form a liquid-tight joint, the nib 2 and feedbar 3 being carried in the element and arranged to terminate at the inner end thereof. The element 1 may be closed at the rear end by a wall in which an elongated aperture for affording communication between the reservoir and the feed-duct 7 is formed. The seat in the barrel or nib-section may be of rounded form to give a line contact. The feed-bar is preferably recessed to accommodate the nib, which may be provided with wings adapted to be bent into additional recesses in the feed-bar to prevent relative movement. The element 1 is provided with a knurled flange to facilitate removal.
