Abstract

254,593. Fornaca, G., Nov. 17, 1925. Clutches, friction.-In a friction clutch comprising discs 3 splined in a drum 2 carried by the driving shaft 1 and co-operating discs 4 splined on a hub 5 fixed on the driven shaft 6, the discs 3, 4 are held normally in engagement by a number of resilient bars 9 which press centrally on lugs 8 on a disc 7 splined in the drum, the ends of the bars being retained by a ring 10 adjustably screwed on the drum 2. Levers 12 pivoted on supports 11 on the disc 7 rest with their outer ends on the ring 10, while their inner ends engage a groove 13 in a sleeve 14 slidable on the shaft 6 and provided with a flange 15 co-operating with a lever 16 which is operated to disengage the clutch.
