March 2, 1926 Nozzles, arrangement of.-Oil under pressure is sprayed on to the teeth of one or both of a mated pair of high-speed toothed gears a, c at a point or points remote from the point of engagement b through nozzles e is quantity sufficient both for lubricating and cooling purposes, the bulk of the oil immediately falling from the teeth into a casing without passing between the teeth in the vicinity of the point of engagement. Some or all of the nozzles discharge in the direction of rotation of the gears.
