Contents, delivering.-In a cigarette or like case in which the cigarettes are arranged in two rows the means for delivering the cigarettes are so arranged that motion imparted to the delivery means associated with one row causes motion in the opposition direction of the delivery means associated with the other row. In one form each ejecting mechanism comprises an element 10 adapted to engage a cigarette and formed integrally with a rack 8, a pinion 14 engaging the two racks so that when one of the racks is actuated by moving a lug 12, which is formed thereon and which projects from the case, the other rack is moved, in the opposite direction. According to the Provisional Specification, the ejecting means may comprise an endless cord passed round pulleys and having portions parallel to the side edges of the case, these straight portions carrying projections engaging the cigarettes, or, alternatively, may comprise a lever having one of its ends in each of the two compartments and operated through links, cams or like.
