Endless chain conveyers with platform carriers; discharging devices ; guiding.-A conveyer for use in proving dough, cooling confectionery, &c. comprises a connected series of carriers each including a number of platforms which are connected in such a way that each carrier, in the course of its travel, is moved in a direction perpendicular to the direction of travel of the conveyer by a track to bring the platforms in succession to a predetermined position parallel to the line of travel for the reception or discharge of the articles. Each carrier J comprises n series of pivoted platforms J<1> and is attached to sleeves H, H<1> which slide on vertical rods G. Horizontal chains D, D' guided by rails E, E<1>, F and passed round sprockets C, C<1> are connected by the rods G. Each carrier is supported by wheels K running on a track L which has a main upper level L', a main lower lever L<2>, a step-up portion L<3>, and a step-down portion L<4>. The conveyer travels in a chamber A in a side wall of which are formed a feeding aperture M and discharging apertures N<1> - - N<5>. These apertures are disposed in such a manner with - respect to the parts L<3>, L<4> of the track, that the platforms are brought successively opposite to them. The platforms are tilted by ramps J<5>.
