Abstract
243,307. Keck, W. M. Nov. 22, 1924, [Convention date]. Spigot - and - socket screwed joints.-A well. casing or tubing comprises sections A of uniform diameter throughout and with the two ends B, C of each section upset outwardly, said upset ends being so formed as to provide an external shoulder, substantially at right angles to the axis of the tubing, whereby said tubing may be lowered into or raised from the well. An external thread 1 is formed on the end B of each section while a corresponding internal thread 2 is formed in the opposing end C, both threads being tapered and of such form that connecting sections may be screwed together fluidtightly without allowing any part of the end B to come to a seat against a shoulder 3 in the end C of the adjoining section. The upset ends B, C are of substantially the same diameter.
