355,528. Rod couplings. DARDELET THREADLOCK CORPORATION, 120, Broadway, Manhattan, New York, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Thomson, A. M. ; 636, Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A). Sept. 5, 1930, No. 26558. Convention date, June 11. [Class 99 (i).] In a joint for the sections 24 of deep-well pump rods, in which the lower end of each section screws into a box 27 at the upper end of the next section, the threaded portion 33 is protected against bending and unscrewing by engaging portions above and below the threaded portion. The engaging portions may comprise a cylindrical collar 28 and a tapered end 32 on the upper section engaging corresponding bores in the box. Alternatively the end 32 and its socket may be cylindrical, the collar 28 being formed with a coned undersurface engaging a coned seat in the mouth of the box.
