Indicators actuated by pressure of head of liquid. -In a liquid level indicator of the type in which the pressure due to head of liquid is transmitted through an air tube to a manometer, a narrow tube 6 connects the manometer 5 with the liquid tank 1, and passes upwards through a larger depending tube 3. The tube 3 is enlarged at 4 so that the varying level in the. tube due to varying head of liquid in the tank is confined to the enlarged part. To prevent condensation of vapour, e.g. petrol, in the tube 6, the upper end of this tube is formed as in Fig. 2. The tube 6 is secured to a hood 16 by means of a member 13 having a very small opening 15 which prevents mixing of the petrol vapour in the tube 3 with the air in the tube 6. The apparatus may be brought into correct working condition by unscrewing the cap 12 carrying the tube 3, withdrawing it, and replacing it.
