Abstract

235,805. Coleman, E. W. Feb. 3, 1925. 'Tread surfaces. - A triple tread for solid or pneumatic tyres comprises a central soft rubber tread A of larger diameter than the harder side treads B the three treads being keyed and vulcanized together. As applied to a pneumatic tyre (Fig. 3), the centre tread A is formed with lateral extensions secured to the tyre casing and forming seats for the side treads B. The construction is stated to prevent side-splashing owing to the ' lead ' of the centre tread in road engagement. Specifications 23715/05 and 26722/06 are referred to.
