Abstract

221,419. Wiseman, H. E., and Earl, H. G. Jan. 31, 1924. Solid and pneumatic tyres side by side.-An anti-skid attachment' for road vehicles comprises a number of wheels or discs having peripheral surfaces, alternately disposed, of inclined wire bristles and rubber, the diameter of the rubber surfaces being such that excessive crushing of the bristles is prevented, the said wheels or discs being independent of the usual road wheel tvres. The discs are mounted in a channel-section rim 15 attached to the road wheel 16 by suitable clamps 17 such as are em. ployed for the attachment of spare wheels. The bristles on near and off-side wheels are oppositely inclined.
