Abstract

228,729. Child, A. H. March 7, 1924. Cutting slices in succession. - A clamp for a bacon - slicing machine comprises a main spiked arm 1 pivotally carrying an auxiliary spiked arm 3 which is held in any desired position, to conform with the shape of the bacon, by a notched bar 5 engaging a projection on the member 7 against which it is pressed by a spring 8. One arm pivots down on the meat in a clockwise direction and the other arm in an anticlockwise direction. The arm 1 is of inverted channel section, the arm 3 being pivoted in the channel. The arm 3 may be held in any position by a bolt, engaging a slot in the bar 5, and a wing nut. Two or more auxiliary arms may be carried by the arm 1.
