Abstract
138,121. Berkel, C. F. M. van. June 18, 1917, [Convention date]. Cutting slices in succession.-A clamp for a meat-slicing machine has only one post 33. The upper member 39 of the clamp is carried by an arm 17 held down by two clutch members 13, 21 adjustable on the post. The member 13 can be raised by the arm 17 engaging a stop 20 tending to turn an arm 19 anti-clockwise, when rollers 15, 16 allow the members 13 to slide upwards. The upward pressure of meat on the clamp 39 tends to turn the arm 19 clockwise when the clutch 13 binds on the post. The other end of the arm 17 is held down by an arm 23 fixed to the clutch 21 which, in the position shown, binds on the post, but may be released when desired by a cam 28 operated by a lever 31 through a resilient connecting-rod 29.
