Abstract

222,978. Indlekofer, A. July 16, 1923. Spray carburettors.-Economy in fuel consumption is effected by drawing hot air through the crank case to mix with and vaporize particles of lubricating oil therein, the resulting mixture of hot air and lubricating oil vapour being led through a separating device either direct to the cylinder or to the carburettor outlet pipe. Hot air enters the crank case D through a pipe C from a casing B surrounding the exhaust pipe A<1>. The outlet pipe e has an enlargement or chamber e<1> for separating and collecting heavy oil particles and the mixture then passes through a control device f to an inlet valve c. The carburettor delivers mixture through the pipe r. In a modification, the control device f delivers into the pipe r. A cock h may admit petrol for cleaning the valve guide and benzine for starting the engine.
