Abstract

249,795. Hedges, A. E. Jan 27, 1926. Pneumatic and solid tyres side by side on the same wheel. - A wheel of the type having a detachable rim secured to the wheel by bolts passing through lugs on the felloe, has a reserve tyre 6, which is adapted to take the weight of the vehicle when the pneumatic tyre is damaged, and is carried by a supplementary rim 5 provided with perforated lugs or brackets 7. The perforations in the brackets 7 are so disposed as to coincide with the perforations for the securing bolts in the lugs on the felloe, and bolts similar to the securing bolts secure the supplementary rim in position.
