Percussive drills.-A percussive tool urged forward by an adjustable, spring c<8> is pushed back by a lever h actuated by a roller g<2> on an arm g rocked by a link f<2> which is reciprocated by a lever f, connecting-rod e<3> and crank-shaft e driven by tothed gearing or otherwise from the main driving shaft d. The link f<2> is tripped by a roller i, and is also controlled by a spring f<8> acting on its tail and co-operating with a lever f<11> and a fixed guide f<14>. A worm j driven by a ratchet from the lever f rotates the tool bar intermittently. The mechanism is mounted between a pair of plates a, a<1>, provided with holes a<7> for adjusting the inclination about the, shaft d which forms a pivot. A weight k<2> may be used to aid the blow when the tool is used otherwise than vertically, by driving the lever h against a roller c<14>; an extra spring l may be used for the same purpose.
