Abstract

Lever-and-spring-actuated pumps.-In spring- actuated pump-mechanism for type-bar-making machines, an additional spring, which can be brought into action at will, is provided for facilitating the casting of larger slugs. The cam-controlled pump-lever 1, which is mounted on a shaft 2, is actuated by a spring 5 connected to an arm 4 on the lever, as heretofore. A supplementary spring 10 acts on arm 8, which overlaps the arm 4, and is adapted to engage it by means of screw 9. The arm 8 can be held out of action by means of a pivoted stop-arm 12, which is operated by a rod 14 having a knob or handle 16.
