Propelling.-A trailer vehicle having the usual towing bar and steering wheels at the front thereof is manoeuvred after disconnection from the towing vehicle by gearing comprising a manually operated driving shaft e, a countershaft f, gear wheels e<1>, f<2> carried by these shafts, and chain gearing g, g<1>, g<2> connecting the countershaft to a rear wheel or axle. Both rear wheels may be driven by independent sets of gearing or the countershaft mav extend across the vehicle and be provided with differential gearing driven from a single driving shaft. The shafts e, f are mounted in bearing in a casing d and cover d<1>, the shaft @ being arranged to slide in its bearings so as to throw the wheels e<1>, f<2> out of gear when the vehicle is being towed. The shaft is held in the required position by the engagement of a pivoted plate h with a groove e<2> or h<2> in the shaft. Adjustable radius rods f<1> are provided. According to the Provisional Specification, worm or other gearing may be employed.
