Abstract

207,181. Z³blin, W. Nov. 14, 1922, [Convention date]. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. - An auxiliary supply of fuel is injected into a supplementary combustion chamber f at the end of the compression period, and is ignited therein by the heat of compression, the products of combustion being utilized to spray the main charge of fuel injected by the nozzle e along the passage d. The supplementary charge of fuel may have a lower flash point than the main fuel charge, and charges may be injected by the same pump, or two separate pumps may be employed.. The auxiliary fuel injection may commence earlier and be of less duration than the main fuel injection. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) a single pump having two delivery plungers may be used to inject the fuel charges. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
