Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus for the taking of samples from a stream of granular or pulverulent materials which comprises a rotary drum with a substantially horizontal axis, divided into a plurality of sample- taking compartments 28, 30, 34 by transverse partitions 22, 24, 26, each compartment comprising an inlet arranged in a transverse partition, a peripheral outlet 40, 42, and a sample take-up scoop situated before the said outlet and communicating with the next-following compartment and eventually to a hopper 39. The material not sampled flows through the outlets to a helix 44 which feeds to a hopper 48. <IMAGE>
