Induction, preventing.-In order to eliminate cross-talk in a four-wire telephone cable, in each section between adjacent loading points, the capacities between the wires of one pair and the wires of the other pair are balanced, and in addition the earth capacities of the two wires of each pair are balanced. The condensers used are made of suitable standard capacities, and are sealed in metal containers connected to the sheath of the cable so that they are screened.
