Motor power plant.-To improve the efficiency of existing turbine installations, the pressure and (or) the superheat of the steam is increased and the additional available heat-drop is utilized in a turbine placed before the high-pressure stage of the existing turbines. A single additional turbine may be placed before several existing turbines in parallel and several additional turbines in parallel may be placed before a single existing turbine. The additional turbine may supply power independently of the existing turbine or may be geared to it.
