Motor power plant; working-fluid supply.-An auxiliary turbine or other engine 3 placed between the stages 1, 4 of a critical pressure steam generator and serving to drive the feed pump 2, as described in the parent Specification, also drives through gearing 10 an electric machine 11 which absorbs or makes up the differences between the energy requirements of the pump and the turbine output. The electric machine is connected to the electric mains of the electric generator driven bv the main turbine 5. The feed valve is controlled in accordance with the quantity of steam supplied to the main turbine.
