Abstract

194,051. Amon, A. Jan. 5, 1922. Mounting and securing reserve tyres on vehicles.-A spare tyre is gripped by shoes 15, 16 on two clamping. jaws 12, 13 pivoted at 14, the jaw 12 having a nut 17 to receive a screw 18, the free end of which is provided with a pawl-like pivoted finger 20 adapted to engage a ratchet-like stop 19 on the jaw 13. The parts are locked in position by passing the hasp 25 of a padlock 26 through one of the eyes 24 of the wing end 22 of the screw and through a slotted plate or keeper 21 pivoted at one end to the nut 17.
