Abstract
192,076. Mahieu, P. Jan. 18, 1922, [Convention date]. Gas cooking-stoves; baffles.-A gas-heated hot plate stove, of the type comprising a closed chamber containing baffles which give the gases a tortuous path, is provided with a single burner 12 of disc or mushroom type, which is seated in an opening in the base so as to be substantially flush with it and is surrounded by a ring of air holes in the base. The bottom and sides of the chamber are lagged with non-conducting material 2, whilst the top is formed of metal plate 3 of high conductivity. Above the burner is an opening 17 in the top plate with a cover 18. Baffles 6 - - 11 give the gases a winding path on their way to the exit 16 at the end of the stove. A cooking-chamber open at the lower end may stand on the stove, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 1.
