Abstract

562,136. Cooking stoves. DARBY, H. G. Nov. 18, 1942, No. 16282. [Class 126] A gas cooking stove is provided with an oven 14 heated externally by a burner 35 from which the gases flow laterally to side flues 26 provided with inclined baffles 27 and enter a flue at the top of the oven where they flow between V- shape baffles 29 to the back flue 30 and outlet flue 31. The flues at the sides, back and top of the oven are enclosed by heat insulated walls 10, 11, 15. The bottom 36 of the oven is provided with a refractory protecting plate 37 and rings 39, 40 which increase the heating surface and cause the gases to take a sinuous course towards the side flues. Compartments 16 and 17 are provided above the oven for warming plates and grilling respectively and a compartment 32 is provided beneath the oven for storage or keeping material warm. Doors 33, 25 and 43 are provided for the various compartments and the oven. The top of the stove is provided with a cover 24 which encloses the plate 19 having apertures 20, 21 arranged above the griller burner 23 and burner 22. Openings 41 are provided at the base of the cooker for the entry of air to the burner 35 which is arranged in an opening at the top of the compartment 32. A window 44 is provided for observing the burner flame.
