Abstract

4126. Davis, H. N., and Twigg, W. R. March 16. Atmospheric gas burners.-The gas supply is admitted to the burner through apertures in the wall of the mixing chamber, and is regulated by moving the part of the mixing-chamber containing the apertures relatively to the outer part, compressed-air being admitted to the mixing-chamber through a nozzle. In one form, a cap f provided with slots h is adjustably mounted on the rear end of the mixing-tube a, and is screwed on a compressed-air nozzle p provided with a regulating-needle t. The cap f is enclosed in a casing c provided with a gas inlet d and bolted to a flange b on the mixing- tube a. The cap f is moved longitudinally to regulate the gas supply by a pinion l engaging teeth on its periphery, or by worm gearing.
