Radiations, effecting chemical reactions by.- Liquid to be sterilized by ultraviolet rays is forced under pressure into a vertical cylinder 1, Fig. 1, producing a rapid rotary motion, and the level is depressed above the central discharge aperture 4 so that a cavity is formed in which the lamp is placed, every particle of liquid being efficiently treated. Rotation of the liquid is effected by forcing it through a narrow tangential passage 3, Fig. 2.
